Praveen Kaimadathil

Founder & CEO

Praveen Kaimadathil is a classical dance educator , choreographer and cultural organizer based in kalady, Kerala, India. He is the Founder of Team Aharya, an arts institution dedicated to nurturing Indian classical dance through structured training, performance platforms, and cultural initiatives. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) .
In 2018, he was awarded the prestigious CCRT (Centre for Cultural Resources and Training) Fellowship by the Government of India. Earlier, in 2017, he received the Vajra Jubilee Fellowship from the Kerala Department of Culture in recognition of his contribution to classical arts. As a visionary choreographer, he has conceptualised and directed several acclaimed dance productions including Chitrapadaravanam — a powerful narrative on Rama, Sita, Ravana and Hanuman; Krishna Shila — based on the history of the Guruvayur Temple; Maa — portraying the life of Adi Shankaracharya through the eyes of Aryamba; and Karnan — depicting the life and valor of Karna.
He is a dedicated exponent of classical Natya treatises such as the Natyashastra and Abhinaya Darpana, guiding the theoretical and aesthetic foundations of Indian classical dance. Under his leadership, Team Aharya organizes Kerala’s biggest residential classical dance workshop and National Dance Festival. classical dance. Through vision, discipline, and cultural commitment, Praveen Kaimadathil continues to contribute significantly to the growth and expansion of classical dance in India.
